ABU DHABI - Two stars from the world of street soccer are in Abu Dhabi this week to inspire youngsters and show off their skills, according to a release.
Streetkings.eu founder Edward van Gils and Lenny Macnack, one of the group’s top performers, are taking part in a three-day series of exhibitions and events at the Dome@Rawdhat on Airport Road.
They make their first appearance with a skills demonstration after Thursday night’s closing ceremony for the latest Manchester United Soccer Schools programme (8 pm).
On Friday afternoon youngsters in Abu Dhabi have an open invitation from the pair to take part in a 2 by 2 tournament (4 pm to 6 pm) at the same venue, while an adult clinic for men and women follows there on Saturday (2 pm to 4 pm).
Hailed as one of the most famous street footballers in the world, he is a former player with Dutch League side AZ Alkmar who set up the Holland-based Streetkings.eu organisation to create a new platform for the sport’s best talents to perform.
He also had a leading role in a short street soccer movie called ‘League of Legends’ featuring Dutch stars Nigel de Jong, Johnny Heitinga and Edgar Davids.
